A

  • Asics: ASICS is a Japanese multinational corporation athletic equipment company which produces footwear and sports equipment designed for a wide range of sports, generally in the upper price range.
  • Adidas: Adidas AG is a German multinational corporation that designs and manufactures sports shoes, clothing and accessories headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria. It is the largest sportswear manufacturer in Europe and the second biggest in the world.
  • ACG: All Condition Gear. 

 

B

  • B Grade: A shoe that is not up to production standards and is considered “defect”, although these defects are so often so minute we can’t even see. B-grades are found in Nike outlets and factory stores, usually with a B stamp or mark on the tongue or the box.

  • Deadstock or DS: refers to a sneaker that is brand new, never worn or tried-on and in the original box as-is from the retailer or distributor.
  • Doernbecher: A children’s hospital in Portland, OR, with whom Jordan Brand and Nike do collaborations on sneakers, and all the profits go to the research and funding for the hospital.  

 

E

  • Elephant Print: Popularized and iconized by Jordan Brand and Nike, it is a print that resembles an elephanta skin pattern and texture.

  • Factory Laced: Laces that have been tightlen and professionally knotted from the factory. To not have been adjusted or loosened.

  • GR | General Release: A wide release with huge allocation numbers going to stores.
